Make Brown Bag Lunches for Families
United Way Bay Area is partnering with various Emergency Food Shelters Program and Emergency Assistance Network agencies to provide sandwiches. We're looking for volunteers with the ability to make 50-100 sandwiches for individuals who are suffering from homelessness.
Each brown bag should include: a sandwich, side/snack, bag of chips, fruit (apple, organge, banana), beverage (juice box, water, etc). Sandwiches are typically made from items that will not perish quickly i.e. PBJ, hard boiled egg, turkey or other meats. We ask for all bags to include a note on the front of the bag what kind of sandwich it is, in case we have folks have other preferences.
We encourage you to have fun with it. Some groups have decorate the bags or put little notes that read "have a nice day" or "hope you enjoy" on the front. It makes it a little more personal, and I know the people receiving them appreciate it.
Please express interest and our partner will follow-up with you to confirm your date.
Thank you for your interest.
